NAD is found in all living cells and helps to promote cellular regeneration as well as playing a very important role in cellular energy. Not only is NAD+ a building block, it helps to fuel the human body while fighting off neurodegenerative diseases.

NAD affects how your body responds to age-related diseases and as we age, the NAD levels in our body drop. NAD supplementation can help slow the rate of aging and enable more efficient DNA repair. Through the use of NAD+ IV Therapystudies have shown that your body can restore the youthful appearance of your skin. NAD has also been found to lengthen telomeres, which are the protective caps on the ends of chromosomes that naturally become shorter as we age.

What is IV Iron Infusion therapy?

What is NAD+ iv Infusion therapy?

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) infusion therapy is a medical treatment that involves the intravenous administration of NAD+ into the bloodstream. NAD+ is a coenzyme that plays a crucial role in various metabolic processes within the cells, including energy production, DNA repair, and cellular communication. It is derived from vitamin B3 (niacin) and is an essential component of many cellular processes.

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is sometimes referred to as the “elixir of life” due to its vital role in numerous cellular processes, including energy production, DNA repair, and cell signaling. It plays a central role in maintaining overall cellular health and function, and its decline is associated with aging and various age-related diseases.

NAD+ IV Therapy benefits

Studies have shown that NAD+ therapy boosts organ function and immunity, protects against DNA damage and cancers, and enhances longevity through its anti-aging properties.

NAD+ IV Therapy benefits

NAD+ IV therapy offers potential benefits, including enhanced energy, anti-aging effects, cognitive support, addiction recovery aid, and metabolic and mitochondrial health.

NAD+ is involved in the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is the primary energy currency of cells. Some people seek NAD+ therapy to increase their energy levels.

As we age, NAD+ levels tend to decline, which can lead to compromised mitochondrial function and energy production. This decline in NAD+ has been linked to the aging process and age-related diseases. Therefore NAD+ infusion therapy is focused on replenishing NAD+ levels to support mitochondrial health and potentially mitigate age-related decline.

NAD+ serves as a cofactor for sirtuins, a group of enzymes that play a role in various cellular processes, including those related to cognitive function. Sirtuins are involved in gene regulation, DNA repair, and stress response, all of which can impact cognitive health.

One of the primary ways NAD+ therapy is used in addiction recovery is to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms. When individuals stop using certain substances, their bodies often experience physical and psychological withdrawal symptoms. NAD+ is believed to assist in reducing the severity and duration of these withdrawal symptoms, making the detoxification process more manageable.

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is closely linked to mitochondrial health and function. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell, responsible for generating adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is the primary energy source for cells. NAD+ plays a critical role in the various biochemical pathways that occur within mitochondria

NAD+ is thought to have neuroprotective properties. It may help protect brain cells (neurons) from damage caused by factors like oxidative stress, inflammation, and certain neurodegenerative diseases. This neuroprotection could potentially contribute to better cognitive function and reduced cognitive decline.

NAD+ is involved in DNA repair processes, including those that occur in brain cells. Maintaining the integrity of DNA is essential for optimal cognitive function, as DNA damage can lead to cognitive deficits and neurodegenerative conditions.

NAD+ may help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, both of which are contributing factors to the aging process and age-related diseases.

Studies have shown that NAD+ therapy boosts organ function and immunity, protects against DNA damage and cancers, and enhances longevity through its anti-aging properties.

HOW OFTEN CAN YOU GET A NAD+ IV infusion?

The frequency of NAD+ infusions depends on individual needs and specific conditions.

Here are some guidelines:

  • Initial Sessions:
Most patients benefit from one session per week initially. This helps establish a baseline and allows you to experience the positive effects of NAD+ therapy.
  • Maintenance Sessions:
After the initial sessions, monthly maintenance sessions are recommended. These help sustain the benefits and support overall wellbeing.
  • Customized Approach:
It’s essential to create a customized treatment plan based on your unique needs. Factors like lifestyle, medical conditions, and medications play a role in determining the optimal frequency.
  • Addiction Treatment:
When treating drug and alcohol addiction, daily doses of 1000-1500 mg are given for 10-12 days consecutively.

Remember that individual responses may vary, so consult with a healthcare professional to determine the best schedule for your NAD+ infusions.

HOW OFTEN CAN YOU GET a NAD+ IV infusion?

NAD+ IV infusion: What to Expect

NAD+ IV infusion: What to Expect

Iron is needed for many organs, especially to help form red blood cells and enable them to carry oxygen around your body. If your body has insufficient “iron”, then fewer blood cells are produced.

Your blood test have shown that you have not enough iron in your body, either because you have lost blood, because you have an infection or another condition that causes a deficiency in iron. Your doctor may have prescribed you an iron infusion because iron taking tablets has not worked or because you need to increase your iron stores quickly.

When you come into the Paarl Infusion Center a nurse can talk to you further about the treatment and what you can expect.

IV Iron Infusion treatment with Monofer does not require any special preperations from your side. You can eat and drink as you normally do and also take your usual medicines. We advise you go through your whole medical history with your doctor.

Monofer is an intravenous iron treatment that is given directly into your vein. The infusion will go into your vein from a drip.

The Nurse will observe you for the first few minutes of treatment to make sure that you do not have a reaction to the infusion. Some patient experience mild to moderate infusion reactions. These reactions should not cause you any concern. The nurse is there to support and guide you throughout the infusion.

If you feel dizzy or unwell during the treatment, please tell your nurse or doctor and the infusion will then be stopped. The symptoms usually go away after a few minutes. Once the symptoms have disappeared, the nurse can restart the infusion, and the symptoms usually do come back.

The time it takes for an infusion depends on your weight and the iron dose needed. An infusion will take approximately 15 – 30 minutes. you will be observed for 30 minutes by your doctor or nurse following each administration.

The time taken for each patient to feel improvements of the symptoms of iron deficiency is very individual. Some people will feel better after only a couple of days, others will feel an improvement after a few weeks or a month, while some people may not notice a difference.

Some patients may experience achy joints or limbs or sometimes fever in the days following the infusion. Although uncomfortable, these side effects usually settle after a few days. Using simple painkillers can sometimes help to easy the discomfort. If these do not help, or if you have any other symptoms, please contact your doctor for advice.

In the weeks or months after treatment a new blood sample will usually be taken if your body’s iron store are fully corrected. By doing this your doctor will be able to determine if you need further treatment. Some patients need more that one treatment. I you have a chronic condition that is causing your iron deficiency, it is normal to have your treatment repeated.

The process for an IV iron infusion is as follows

All patients must have a referral from their doctor before making an appointment at Paarl Infusion Center. Please check with your insurance provider if you have questions about referrals. Paarl Infusion Center staff will verify your insurance coverage before your first visit and contact you if additional information is needed.

1. Get iron levels tested

Iron profile studies are done by your treating medical doctor and a prescription is issued if needed.

2. Get medication

You then have the option of purchasing the medication yourself or sending us the prescription.

3. Make appointment

An appointment is then made with us for the infusion. Remember, we do not keep stock of iron at our practice.

4. Requirements

We require a copy of the prescription, as well as the medication in order to run the infusion.
